Haddon Hall
April 12, 2026During a holiday in the Peak District we spent the day at Haddon Hall. This is expensive to visit but we joined the historic houses organisation, which allows visiting all of the houses in the organisation over a one year period.
The hall is located just south of Bakewell on the river Wye. The hall is one of the most authentic examples of a fortified Tudor manor house. The house itself is ver interesting to walk around and has very relaxing and pretty grounds. I attach some pictures below:

I didn't take many pictures from within the house but it was clearly very old, authentic and interesting. The gardens were lovely to walk around, one of the intersting features being the way in which plants have been planted in the walls.
Well worth a visit as part of the historic houses scheme but might struggle to justify the cost on a standalone basis.
