Higher Penmayne Farm - a pleasant quiet and convenient site in Rock

This was a very convenient and not too expensive campsite between Rock and Pityme. It was very conveniently located for a local supermarket, fish and chip shop and a couple of pubs. The supermarket was good but expensive.

The site itself was pleasant and well maintained. Showers were 50p in the main block, although there were some outside showers that were available for free. There was also a hand sink for washing wetsuits. Overall the washrooms were clean, tidy and functional.

The wardens were very helpful and friendly. The only slight negative is that the pitches are quite cramped and when the site was busy we felt rather hemmed in, fortunately it was quite quiet for most of our stay.

The main reason we stayed here is the location. It is a 5-10 minute ride or a 30 minute walk to Rock Beach and to the ferry to Padstow. Our daughter and family were staying in Rock and hence we could join them very easily.

Would we visit again - probably if we needed to be in this location, but we much preferred the Trevone view farm site that we visited next Trevone view farm campsite
